A long rectangular one acre flat lake front lot with a thick layer of glacial silt creating a badly drained boggy site. With empty lots to the long north boundary and the lake to the short west boundary, we decided to orientate the house to the west and where the views would be protected. To mitigate the boggy site the house platform was built up with a meter of certified fill.
