This house makes the most of a challenging hilltop site, opening up to spectacular Western views and connecting to a sheltered and sunny Northeastern courtyard whilst offering flexible living spaces designed to cater for the changing needs of a family.

On the first floor, generous open space was allocated for the bedrooms so that multiple beds could be fitted.  The master suite is located on the third level of the house, enabling the owners to enjoy the best views available from the site, whilst providing them with a private haven from guests and family.  Downstairs, the versatile living area encompasses an overflow studio/games room, which can also be converted into a self contained flat.

Environmental control was facilitated through intermediate zones of sheltered decks, and courtyards.  Solar gain is harvested with glazing to the western facade. The overhanging deck and 2.4 meter veranda help minimize overheating.
