Lagoon Avenue

Making the most of a 650sqm site, this two-storey new build house and carport, was designed to look like it had been there for decades, and was inspired by a historic cottage from the Wairapara region.

Despite the relatively small ground surface it occupies, the habitable area uses the whole building volume creating a sense of space and connection to the entire site.  

Downstairs, an open plan kitchen leads onto the lounge, the dining room with its dedicated sitting area and the veranda.

The cozy upstairs mezzanine hangs above the kitchen and overlooks the dining room below. It also provides a link between the two upper floor bedrooms and a bathroom with custom-built storage, which all sit under the high pitched roof space.
